Your account and contributions

We use your email address to sign you in and manage your account. We store account identifiers, sign-in and session records, ratings, photos, reports, corrections, moderation decisions, blocked contributors and reward progress to operate Ramp Report and protect the community. A name or profile image may also be stored if supplied with your account. Your email is not displayed with ramp reports.

Photos and public content

Submit only photos and information you have the right to share. Approved contributions may be displayed to other anglers. Uploaded photos are resized and re-encoded to remove embedded metadata, including GPS metadata. The image itself can still reveal places, people or identifying details, so do not include private information.

Photo files use public storage URLs. Anyone with a file’s URL may view it, including before moderation; pending photos are not listed in the app. Reports and moderation records are reviewed by Ramp Report administrators. User-provided external photo links are hosted by their respective providers.

Maps and information on your device

The app does not request your device’s GPS location. The lake map requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap or the tile service identified in the map attribution; that provider receives your IP address and the requested map area. Choosing directions sends the listed ramp destination to Apple Maps or Google Maps, under that provider’s privacy practices.

Mobile saved ramps, recent lakes, boat preferences and launch-plan selections stay on your device. Basic saved details are an offline snapshot; map imagery, photos and navigation routes are not downloaded. Mobile account credentials use iOS Keychain storage; browser sessions use cookies. Signing out does not automatically remove your locally saved ramps.

Pro purchases and rewards

When Apple purchases are available, Apple handles payment. We receive and verify subscription transaction identifiers, product identifiers, an account-linked purchase token, renewal and expiry information, and refund or revocation status to manage Pro access. We do not receive your payment card number. Contributor rewards are recorded against your account and provide complimentary access when claimed; they do not change Apple billing.

Service providers and diagnostics

Vercel hosts the website, API and uploaded photos; Neon hosts the database; Resend delivers sign-in emails; Apple provides app distribution and purchase services. These providers process information needed to deliver those services. Website pages use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate visits and interactions. The native app does not include advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. Servers and infrastructure may record technical information such as IP addresses, request timing and errors for reliability, security and abuse prevention. Request-limit counters use hashed identifiers.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We share information with the providers needed to run the service, when you choose to publish a contribution or open another service, and when required to meet legal obligations or protect the service.

Waitlist and support

If you join the waitlist, we use your email and optional lake/state preference for Ramp Report updates and coverage planning. Contacting support shares the information you include with us. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or payment card details. You can request removal from the waitlist using the contact below.

Retention, deletion and your choices

We retain account and contribution records while needed to operate your account, moderate content and honor rewards. Mobile sessions expire after 30 days. Old sign-in challenges are removed as new sign-in requests are processed. Request-limit records use expiry times to control abuse and are retained as operational records. Infrastructure logs and backups follow the relevant provider’s retention settings and may not disappear immediately when live records are deleted.

In the mobile app, open Account, choose Delete account and follow the confirmation steps. Recent sign-in is required. Deletion removes the account, its sessions, ratings, uploaded photo records and hosted originals, local-update comments, reward records, and linked Apple entitlement records. Approved factual corrections already incorporated into the shared ramp directory may remain without an account link. Deleting your Ramp Report account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage that separately in Apple’s subscription settings. Remove saved ramps on the device separately, or remove the app. Contact us if you need help accessing, correcting or deleting your information.
